SevenX's team Windsurfer, Lucy Robson, took her life in her own hands when she attempted to Windsurf the 65 miles across the English channel for Children in Need.
The event took place on Friday 17th November, and the plan was to set sail from France on Friday morning, arriving in Brighton between the two palace piers outside of the Grand Hotel to be met by the BBC film crew.
The charity windsurf turned out to be a huge success. Due to the weather warning of severe gales unfortunately the skipper was not happy
to take the boat out into the English Channel. The decision was therefore taken to
windsurf from Selsey to Brighton non-stop at 44 miles.
Given gusts of 50 miles an hour and big swells and breaking waves windsurfing on a very broad reach was no easy feat and Lucy was glad when it was over!
Thanks to lots of support £7,500 was raised for Children in Need.
Well done Lucy!
